For some, it’s gluten. Others? Dairy. But for one person we know it’s gluten, it’s dairy, it’s legumes, high fats, sugars, certain grains, and more, many more. Blair is a friend, a collaborator, and someone you could say has had the digestive deck stacked against her. Living with chronic digestive health conditions has more than its share of limitations—Blair is no stranger to them. But at some point, Blair decided she wasn’t going to let those limitations control her life. Instead, she was going to get creative and learn how to control them.
Today, Blair is a yoga instructor, recipe connoisseur, and mainstay of Boston’s fitness community. We semi-jokingly like to call her a digestive health savant. Have a dietary restriction? She can work around it—no matter how difficult you think it is. Her background and personal struggle to find foods that worked for her, helped her become a source of delicious, digestion-friendly recipes and inspiring advisor for those with a similar story.
In her own words:
“Balancing my personal life, social life, family, anxieties around food, and whatever life decides to throw my way -the good or the bad- is still aprocess. I have not cured the digestive health pain or my migraines overnight, as there is no cure, but today, right now, I feel good and better than before. I would never have believed that I could come this far simply through a different way of eating. The integrative approach will always be my first choice of healing. I’ve learned more on this health journey than I could have possibly imagined and I really want to share all of this information with you. Creating this blog is my way of turning something negative into something really positive. If there is someone reading this, that has experienced a similar journey and I have the ability to help them, then I believe it's a success for not only you, but for myself as well. The most important thing to remember is that you have to do what makes you feel best, what foods and lifestyle work best for YOU. Our bodies are all different but if you feel healthy and happy, you’ll be much better company!”
We’re big fans of Blair and what she’s doing to make the digestive health narrative more accessible.
