Granola Bars are the perfect on the go snack and one of the easiest foods to make at home. What we wanted to do was provide the perfect base for your granola bars so that you can customize them anyway you like depending on your dietary needs.
2.5 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup nuts or seeds of your choice
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of butter
We've experimented with many different recipes, a few of which are detailed below.
Tart Cherry Anti-Inflammatory bars - here, we add some dried tart cherries and/or craisins and sprinkle in a few servings of Tart Cherry powder to the mix.
Planted Protein Bars - Planted is the perfect addition to bars to add a little extra protein. We love using Planted along with a few extra pumpkin and sunflower seeds. This bar is also terrific with other types of granola mixed in - we're partial to Udis granola but any type will do the trick!
Kitchen Sink Bars - On these, we add each of our powders: Planted, Adapted, Source along with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia and flax seeds and a bit of almond butter to thicken the mixture - equal parts indulgent and nutritious.
Another cool idea - it is a great idea to make a butter spread to drizzle over the top - another unique way to add supplements to your favorite bar. We add Source or Planted to peanut or almond butter and spread over our bars or use it as a dip of sorts.
